Ceramics West was opened in 1984 by Paul and Soo Rhee. Since then, their daughter, Esther Rhee, and son-in-law, Charles Banh, continue the family tradition of providing the most esthetic dental prosthetics combined with cutting-edge technology and amazing customer service.
Today, Ceramics West exists as a limited service laboratory focused on guided surgery and full arch hybrid prostheses.. As of 2018, Ceramics West is the first and only Avadent partnered lab in the state of Oregon to provide monolithic digital denture technology. They are also a Straumann Alliance Laboratory utilizing the full Straumann workflow including CARES, CoDiagnostix, the M Series titanium mill, and P40 3D printers.
Esther Rhee
Esther holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from George Fox University in business management and organizational leadership. She's been involved in dental technology for the last 10 years and heads CAD/CAM technology and design. She was formerly the treasure-elect of the Oregon Association of Dental Laboratories and is the chief financial officer for the lab as well as co-owner.
Charles Banh
Charles holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley in Microbiology and is a denturist. He brings over 10 years of implant experience and guided surgery from Anatomage and BIOMET, respectively. He is a consultant for oral surgeons and travels to speak around the country in digital dentistry and guided surgery. He was voted one of the top 40 dental technicians under the age of 40 in the US by LMT Magazine and has published numerous articles on digital dentistry. Currently he is a key opinion leader for the Straumann Group.
He is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, Faculty Club for Spear Education and is a fellow of the International Team of Implantology.
He heads both guided surgery and full arch departments and is co-owner of Ceramics West and Alliance Training.
Cassie Gonzalez
Cassie is our lab coordinator and the first person you’ll talk to when you call our office. She can answer any question you have about your cases and manages your pick ups and deliveries. She’ll be able to answer the majority of your logistics related questions.
Soo Nam Rhee
Soo is a co-founder of the lab. Originally trained in Korea, Soo worked a several labs in the Portland area before starting Ceramics West. She has been a ceramist for over 30 years.
